SAAB
Is Proud To Introduce SAAS
It brings me great pleasure to announce the launching of
Student African American Sisterhood National
Organization, Inc. (SAAS), a nonprofit
established to foster the personal development, academic
achievement, and community investment of our members.
SAAS seeks to positively impact the lives of its
membership through creating supportive networks among
African American and Latina females, encouraging and
assisting with personal and professional development,
and providing strategies for educational attainment and
success.
The SAAS organization began on the campus of
Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis in
2004 and since has had significant success in developing
a sisterhood that truly encompasses academic excellence,
leadership, service to the community and relationships
with other black and brown sisters. We are truly
creating a sisterhood of distinction! For this reason,
we have been preparing to share our program development
with colleges and high schools nationwide. It is our
goal to spread the success of the SAAS Chapter
by launching chapters that support the mission of
SAAS National.
Please take some time to review the SAAS National
website at
www.saasnational.org to gain a deeper understanding
of the organization as well as how to bring SAAS
to your institution!
The SAAS Motto is: We are sisters on the same
journey, empowering one another through social unity,
academic excellence, leadership and support – we are a
sisterhood of distinction and together we will rise!
I look forward to sharing additional information with
you. Should you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me via e-mail at
