Student African American Brotherhood (SAAB), founded in 1990, has chapters on more than 200 Middle and High School/College and University campuses in 39+ states across the country. SAAB operates through student chapters where young men of color enjoy social, cultural and spiritual enrichment. SAAB increases the number of young men graduating from college by creating a positive peer community based on a spirit of caring.

SAAB membership is open to any student attending an institution that has a registered SAAB Chapter. SAAB National Conference
SAAB hosts a male oriented national conference with powerful messages of success to inspire and mentor Young Men of Color across the United States. SAAB Conferences are events intended to reach Middle and High School/College and University students. We invite you to join us for insightful speakers, presenters and workshops that will enlighten likeminded young men, professionals, community activists and scholars who strive to make a difference in the lives of young men in the community. We encourage all SAAB/B2B Chapter Members, Alumni, Advisors, and SAAB Constituents to attend!!

SAAB National Headquarters has partnered with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks in Springfield, Missouri to create our 1st ever SAAB Endowment Fund! This fund will grow into millions of dollars that will enrich the operational efforts for long term growth and sustainability as we seek to advance our next era of work and to transform into an institution with the capacity to support young men of color nationwide in educational and career attainment, along with helping them reach their fullest potential.

SAAB Regional Cluster Summits

SAAB Regional Cluster Summits are one day - four hour workshops held in various regions of the country where SAAB and B2B Chapters in close proximity join for annual fall training. The Rising Cost of Not Going to College: For those who question the value of college in this era of soaring student debt and high unemployment, the attitudes and experiences of today’s young adults, members of the so-called Millennial generation, provide a compelling answer. On virtually every measure of economic well-being and career attainment, from personal earnings to job satisfaction to the share employed full time. For men of color, high academic motivation does not bring academic success: Despite higher levels of engagement in the community college experience—from rarely skipping classes to accessing tutoring services more frequently—male students of color have lower academic outcomes than White male students who are significantly less engaged, according to a recent University of Texas at Austin report. “Aspirations to Achievement: Men of Color and Community Colleges” was produced by the College of Education’s Center for Community College Student Engagement (CCCSE). It is based on responses from more than 453,000 students nationwide to the Community College Survey of Student Engagement. Read full article . . .
